Most of you have been subjected to a lesson on the congressional make-up of the 114th Congress, largely taken from the excellent research of Jennifer Manning (http://fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R43869.pdf). Further to our discussions on majority-minority districts and gerrymandering, this is a really interesting article about one of only 2 African-Americans in the expanded House Republican caucus whose district is almost 70% Latino. Useful statistics for both the Congress unit of study, as well as civil rights from Unit 3.
