An interesting example here from PMQ’s today. Arguably a good example of PMQ’s not being an effective check on the Government as once again it descended into a raucous affair. But perhaps a counter argument could be that, in this instance, it was actually John Bercow who held the power, cutting off the PM and telling him that Cameron can, ‘take it from me that he has finished’. This could be a useful little example perhaps to highlight weaknesses of executive dominance in a coalition government or indeed the growing power of Parliament to check Government.
