Party Politics in the Senate

Those of you that came out to the USA with me recently had the great experience of hearing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell speak on the floor of the Senate about equality and fairness of pay. Well later that day, the Senate voted on this issue and the Republicans blocked the Paycheck Fairness Act, a Democratic bill. Great evidence in here for both Unit 3 and Unit 4 in terms of party ideology, party politics and party voting in the Senate (similar to that which we have seen in the confirmation voting patterns of the last four Supreme Court Justices). You could also link to a failure of bipartisanship as written into the Constitution.
