Supreme Court and Prayer

Prayer and religion are a controversial topic in a country where the Constitution guarantees the separation of church and state. There have been a number of cases before but the Supreme Court have chosen this term to hear the case of Town of Greece vs. Galloway where the opening of the Greece Town Board meetings with a prayer has been challenged as unconstitutional. This is a great article that highlights the potential impact of this ruling. For any Politics student, thinking about the stock example of Texas v Johnson 1989 (a very old example) where a Supreme Court ruling had a wide ranging impact, this case could potentially have a similarly great impact.
