Anonymous Protests in London

Compared to the HS2 story, here with have a pressure group which could be broadly defined as a New Social Movement; certainly, it is not a pressure group in the traditional sense. Protesting against austerity cuts and government surveillance, this protest resulted in arrests which can definitely therefore be seen as action which would class them as an ‘outsider’. However it is also notable as Caroline Lucas MP was present; usually pressure groups who break the law cannot be negotiated with by the government, as they make the law. It is interesting therefore that a member of the UK government was present at this protest and a useful example of this increasingly prevalent type of pressure group.
