13th May 2013 – David Cameron arrives in US as Tory EU row rages
An article choc-full of examples. Cameron is in the US discussing trade, acting much like a President himself. While at home, backbenchers and frontbenchers are pushing for a vote in Parliament this week to guarantee an ‘in-out’ EU referendum as soon as the next election happens (IF the Tories win!) – Cabinet Ministers have been ordered to abstain (think about Collective Responsibility) but Gove and Hammond say they would vote for a referendum…So, is collective responsibility really effective? Or do you think this is only happening because there is a coalition government, in which case, great evidence for how the coalition has affected government.
